Why José Is Running

Jose’s Platform

José is running for re-election to the office of National Committeeman for the DC Republican Party (DC GOP) because he wants to continue to serve our local Republicans and the party nationally.

José will continue to expand the role of DC GOP in the District of Columbia.  He will work to recruit more volunteers who can raise money, solicit support, knock on doors and make calls, and advocate for our messages and our platform in order to expand operations across the city.  He will also continue to identify, recruit, and support Republican candidates in the District and leverage lines of communications with the U.S. Congress, the Mayor’s office, and the media.

José will continue to use his local and national pulpit to:

  • Work to ensure election integrity and adherence to federal voting laws
  • Advocate for the RNC’s “Grow the Vote” initiative to bring more diverse voter into the Republican Party
  • Promote the Republican Civics Initiative, designed to help future voters prepare for the civics portion of the Naturalization Exam to become American citizens

What Is A National Committeeman?

The DC GOP has three representatives on the Republican National Committee (RNC): Chair, National Committeeman, and National Committeewoman. As National Committeeman, José has raised the profile of the DC GOP among national Republicans. He serves as a well-respected advisor and member of key committees – currently, the Committee on Presidential Debates and the Committee on Faith Engagement. Locally, he is an enthusiastic cheerleader for the party and candidates. During his tenure as chairman, he restored financial stability and rigor to the party.

What Does The RNC Do?

The RNC membership is comprised of 168 grassroots leaders. Each state or territory (plus the District of Columbia) chooses three members to serve on the RNC. Members serve their state parties and the national party in a variety of ways, acting as advisors, cheerleaders, fundraisers, and other roles in service of the mission of electing Republicans up and down the ballot.

The RNC also maintains a headquarters and staff in DC which provides training and support to Republican candidates and state parties.

About The DC GOP

The DC Republican Party (DC GOP) is the only fully urban state party in the country, but packs an outsized influence, with three representatives on the Republican National Committee and 19 delegates and 16 alternates to the Republican National Convention.

The DC GOP will be fielding a slate of candidates for local office up and down the ballot.
